Performance upgrade Mercedes-AMG G 63 W465

707 PS (+122 PS) on production hardware with vehicle-specific Lambda‑GT calibration

From 585 to 707 PS. Calibrated for 2.5 tonnes.

Lambda‑GT develops the V8 of the G 63 from 585 to 707 PS on its production hardware.

A vehicle of this mass and frontal area puts power down differently from a sports car. What matters is not peak power, but an early, strong and even torque build-up in the mid-range. Lambda‑GT describes the details of forced induction under Turbochargers & Boost Systems.

Power delivery

122 PS more – available early, across a broad rev range.

Where a lot of mass is moved, the area under the torque curve counts for more than its highest point.

Boost pressure control and cylinder charge are calibrated so that the additional torque arrives early and is sustained across a broad rev range. The G 63 should pull away more spontaneously and gain more decisively when accelerating from speed. Because a tall, heavy body passes on load changes more strongly, torque is released in measured doses – composed rather than abrupt.

Calibration

Individual Calibration: tailored to the specific G 63.

The G-Class is delivered worldwide in different versions with different data versions.

Before calibration, model year, software version, emissions variant and the tyre and axle configuration of the specific vehicle are read out and taken into account – instead of flashing a universal dataset.

Protective functions

The G 63's standard protective functions are not deactivated for the additional power.

Knock control, exhaust gas temperature monitoring, component protection and limp-home strategies remain part of the engine management.

With high mass, a compact radiator area and sustained load when carrying a payload or towing, temperature monitoring is a central part of the calibration. The additional power is calibrated within these limits.

Data status & release

Developed, tested and documented – for the G 63.

Lambda‑GT develops a coordinated calibration base for the W465 and adapts it to the data version of the specific G 63.

Changes are developed against defined targets for performance, driveability and thermal behaviour, verified by measurement and documented. On the G 63, operation under payload is added as a separate target.

Engineering Validation

The calibration is not released after a single power run.

After calibration, Lambda‑GT tests the G 63 under defined conditions: acceptance drive, power measurement and sustained load.

Charge air, coolant and exhaust gas temperatures are evaluated – so that the additional power remains available when the G 63 is genuinely put to work.

Dyno Verified

707 PS are measured on the specific vehicle – not taken from a data sheet.

Every G 63 calibrated by Lambda‑GT is measured on the in-house dyno after calibration.

The customer receives the certificate for their W465 and with it traceable proof of the measured result.

707 PS for the Mercedes-AMG G 63 – individually calibrated, validated and measured on the dyno.

The Lambda‑GT calibration for the W465 combines the performance upgrade on production hardware with vehicle-specific calibration, technical validation and documented power measurement.

The calibration can also be extended with further functions or performance components – such as adjustments to start-up and idle behaviour, defined sound functions or additional performance parts, integrated into the overall calibration. Examples can be found under Real vehicle projects and Personalised vehicle configurations.
