Lambda‑GT develops the V8 of the GLE 63 S and GLS 63 from 612 to 707 PS on its production hardware.

The figure stated is the output of the combustion engine. The electric motor of the 48-volt mild hybrid (up to 23 PS) is not modified and is not included in this figure. Both models share the same engine but differ in mass, body and typical use. With a kerb weight of more than two tonnes, thermal management determines how much of the additional power is usable. Power delivery

95 PS more for the GLE 63 S and GLS 63 – across a broad, usable rev range.

A GLS is driven differently from a GLE, even though both have the same standard output.

Boost pressure control and cylinder charge are calibrated so that the additional torque arrives early and is sustained across a broad rev range. For the heavier GLS, the emphasis lies more on the mid-range; for the GLE, more on spontaneous response – unobtrusive in everyday use with family, luggage or a trailer, fully available when needed.

Calibration

Individual Calibration: GLE 63 S and GLS 63 calibrated separately.

The same engine does not mean the same data version – nor the same load.

Before calibration, model year, software version, emissions variant, the configuration of the 48-volt mild hybrid system and the axle and tyre configuration of the specific vehicle are read out. A GLS with a third row of seats and regular towing therefore receives a different set-up from a GLE Coupé.

Calibration parameters

Not as many changes as possible, but the right ones.

With high mass and long full-load phases, it is not boost pressure that limits power, but temperature.

Lambda‑GT concentrates on exhaust gas temperature control, the charge air temperature path and the enrichment strategy, matched with boost pressure and cylinder charge – so that the additional power is maintained with a payload, when towing and on long gradients, instead of being taken back by premature protective interventions.

Protective functions

The standard protective functions of the GLE 63 S and GLS 63 are not deactivated for the additional power.

Knock control, exhaust gas temperature monitoring, component protection and limp-home strategies remain part of the engine management.

In vehicles that are regularly driven under load, protective functions are part of everyday usability. Temperature limits are not raised in order to reach a higher figure.

Data status & release

Developed, tested and documented – for the GLE 63 S and GLS 63.

Lambda‑GT develops a coordinated calibration base for each model series and adapts it to the data version of the specific vehicle.

Changes are developed against defined targets for performance, driveability and thermal behaviour, verified by measurement and documented. On the GLE and GLS, operation under payload is added as a separate target.

Engineering Validation

The calibration is not released after a single power run.

After calibration, Lambda‑GT tests the vehicle under defined conditions: acceptance drive, power measurement and sustained load.

Charge air, coolant and exhaust gas temperatures are recorded – so that the additional power remains available when loaded or at high ambient temperatures.

Dyno Verified

707 PS are measured on the specific vehicle – not taken from a data sheet.

Every GLE 63 S and GLS 63 calibrated by Lambda‑GT is measured on the in-house dyno after calibration.

Because the two can turn out differently despite sharing the same engine, the customer receives the certificate for their own vehicle.

The Lambda‑GT calibration combines the performance upgrade on production hardware with vehicle-specific calibration, technical validation and documented power measurement – for each model series, not as a one-size-fits-all SUV solution.

The calibration can also be extended with further functions or performance components – such as adjustments to start-up and idle behaviour, defined sound functions or additional performance parts, integrated into the overall calibration.
